1. Can I place another engine into Kaipan 57, I have Škoda 1,9 diesel?
No. Only the engine Škoda Octavia 1.8 Turbo type „AUM“ is approved for Kaipan 57.
2. Has Kaipan 57 been approved?
Yes. Kaipan 14 has been approved to surface traffic routes.
3. Do I need any special equipment for construction of Kaipan 14?
Construction of Kaipan 14 needs usually only adequate space, e.g. garage and common tools like for example hand drill, riveting pliers, lifter, gripper, spanner, Gola kit, screwdrivers, pliers and other hand tools
4. What is the difference between the Kits “J” and “K”?
Kit ”J” contains most of the essential parts to conversion. Unlike the Kit “K” Kit “J” does not contain AL wheels, tires, upholstery, steering wheel, Al sheets, some small holders and trifles, bodywork and frame flat, rear lights underlay, some stainless steel parts ...Kit “K” contains al parts, mostly in final surface finish.
5. What does the Set ”J” contain?
Basically: bodywork and frame, lights, exhaust pipe, mirrors, windscreen, intake adaptor, extensions of driving, gear-exchange, clutch cable and speedometer and other.
6. What type of Favorit can be converted?
Conversion is approved for all types of Favorit.
7. Can we use Skoda Forman?
No, only Favorit, Forman has some different parts.
8. Can I use different engine (for example from Felicie) in Kaipan 14?
No, alike other parts only Favorit engines.
9. What types of wheels has No 14?
It can have either original Favorit wheels or tyres 195/50/15 on Al discs.
10. When I buy Kaipan 14 Kit ”K” will I miss any components to finish the car?
None except your Favorit. Kaipan 14 Kit “K” should be complete, including screws and nuts.
11. Can I convert Kaipan 14 in Slovakia – that means: is the vehicle after conversion approved also in Slovakia?
According to our information (act 725, from 29th December 2004)this conversion would not be approved in Slovakia. The only possibility is to legalize the conversion in the Czech Republic and then somehow import the vehicle to Slovakia or use Czech number plate for time being.
12. How can I order Kaipan 14 Kit and when is applicant placed onto waiting list?
You can order the Kit either personally in Kaipan Company or by letter. In that case the best is to ask to be sent a obligatory order and once you have signed it and have sent the upfront payment you are placed onto waiting list according to actual delivery time.
13. How is the delivery realized?
Usually the client picks up the delivery directly in Kaipan Company. It is also possible to arrange transport paid by the client.
14. Is it possible to “implant” into Kaipan 14 more powerful engine than 1,3 from Škoda Favorit? Could the vehicle then be approved and pass the technical test (M.O.T)?
Kaipan 14 is approved only as a conversion of Favorit. It cannot be approved and pass the technical test with different engine.
15. Is it possible to see Kaipan 14 in your company or somewhere in Prague or nearby?
One Kaipan 14 is usually to be seen in Kaipan Company in Smržovka. It is advised to find out in advance if the car is available, best by the phone (Car is very often used for different types of tests e.g. magazines). Kaipan 14 will be on display in Prague (main exhibition area Holešovice) in mid October.
